Hi guys! It’s Bethan from Pretty In Paper By B and I am here to share with you my passion for creativity and playful mindfulness! I specialise in an established paper craft technique called iris folding which I have reinvented to create contemporary and stylish art, just like the greetings card I will show you today!
I recently had a go at using Tonic Studios’ new SVG Cut’ables along with some of their beautiful papers to create an iris folding 21st Birthday card and this is how I did it!
Step 1
Designed my card topper in Silhouette Studio using the number SVG Cut’able files 1 and 2.
Step 2
Cut out the 21 card topper using my Silhouette Came 4.
Step 3
Chose a selection of pretty papers and card.
• Craft Perfect - Speciality Paper - Hand Crafted Cotton - Pink Champagne - A4(5/PK) - 150gsm - 9811e
• Craft Perfect - 6x6 Paper Packs - Rustic Rose - 9382E
• Craft Perfect - Classic Card - Ballet Pink - Weave Textured - A4(10/PK) - 9089e
• Craft Perfect - Classic Card - Ivory White - A4 - 216gsm - 10 Sheets - 9015E
Step 4
Blue tac my number card topper over my iris folding pattern and cut the chosen papers into strips about 2cm wide.
Step 5
Folded over an edge of about 7mm of each paper strip.
Step 6
Placed the folded paper strips around number 2, following the numbers on the iris folding pattern.
Step 7
Placed the folded paper strips around number 1, following the numbers on the iris folding pattern.
Step 8
Covered the centre hole with some glitter card.
Step 9
Covered the back of the iris folding with sticky foam pads and a plain piece of card.
Step 10
Turned over the topper and mounted to one half of my gate fold card base.
Step 11
Added some finishing touches with flower paper punches and peel off sticker alphabet letters.
Step 12
And there you have it, an iris folding 21st Birthday card!
